Welcome To Elderfield Treasure Map 1 — Full Guide
Get Treasure Map 1 from the farmhouse cat, then take a Shovel to the large tree between the Mall parking lot and its entrance. The community Treasure table identifies this dig site; the exact tile and repeat behavior still need a current-save check.

Treasure Map 1: the short route
Speak to the cat inside the farmhouse to receive Treasure Map 1, then take a Shovel to the Mall parking lot. Look for the large tree between the parking area and the Mall entrance, and test the ground beside that tree with the Shovel. The community Treasure reference names this landmark as the dig site, while its Items entry separately confirms the farmhouse cat as the map source.
Treat the parking lot as the destination, rather than entering the Mall to search its rooms. The map identifies a buried treasure task, so receiving the map and finding the dig site are two separate steps. If the expected interaction does not appear, check that you actually hold Treasure Map 1 and that your tool is the Shovel before assuming the location changed.
Get the map from the farmhouse cat
Start at the farmhouse and interact with the cat there. The current readable Items and Treasure references both list that cat as the source of Treasure Map 1, making this the best documented acquisition lead in the collected material. Check your inventory after the conversation for an item named Treasure Map 1, because having a different numbered map changes the destination.
Use the map item to view its clue before leaving the farmhouse. The Items entry describes it as an old map that can be viewed with Use, not as the object that digs up the reward. Keep the clue in mind while traveling, but do not confuse seeing a map image with completing its treasure objective.
If the cat gives no map, check whether Treasure Map 1 is already in your inventory or storage. The available sources do not establish whether this interaction can repeat, so a missing second reward does not prove a bug. Record the exact dialogue and inventory state if a fresh save also fails to receive the item.
Bring the right tool before traveling
Bring a Shovel for the buried treasure interaction. The readable Shops reference describes the Shovel as the tool used for digging up buried treasure, which is a different role from the map item itself. A separate shovel walkthrough also points to the General Store as an acquisition lead, although its stock and price were not independently retested for this page.
Check that the Shovel is present and usable before spending time searching the parking lot. If it is absent, follow the linked Shovel guide and verify the current shop inventory rather than trying a Pickaxe or Axe at the dig site. The map source and the tool source answer different questions, and both parts matter to this route.
Find the tree at the Mall parking lot
Travel to the Mall parking lot and look along the approach to the main entrance. The Treasure table places the dig site beside a big tree between the lot and the entrance; it does not place the site inside the Mall. Use those two landmarks together, since a tree elsewhere in the area may lead to an unproductive search.
Walk around the tree and inspect the adjacent ground while holding the Shovel. The source gives a landmark-level location rather than a grid coordinate, facing direction, or exact interaction prompt. If one side does not react, try the nearby ground before abandoning the parking lot or spending another map.
A separate September 2026 guide also describes the farmhouse cat and the same Mall parking-lot tree route. That agreement supports trying the location, but the guides may ultimately draw on the same community table. The clearest confirmation in your own save is the treasure interaction and an inventory change after digging.
No-Nonsense Guides (Sep 11, 0:00–0:19) shows the Mall Parking Lot label and the player approaching the large tree near the entrance. The community Treasure table and September guide agree on that landmark. This silent clip does not verify the farmhouse cat trigger, an exact dig tile, or the reward; its game build is not shown.

The community Treasure table lists one Cleansing Balm, two Tier 1 Bait Packs, five Coal, and two Spoiled Rations for Treasure Map 1. Use this list as a comparison after opening the cache, not as a guaranteed reward promise for every build or save. The table does not document a controlled current-version test of reward variance.
Open your inventory or storage immediately after the dig and compare the items you actually received. If the inventory was full, check storage before concluding the chest was empty; the post-release beginner guide reports that overflow items can be sent to shared storage. Keep the recorded quantities separate from your observed outcome if they differ.
If the dig does not work
First verify the map number, Shovel, and area in that order. Treasure Map 2 points toward the Sewers and Map 3 toward a ranch landmark in the same community table, so using the wrong map can make a plausible location feel broken. Read the item name instead of relying on a thumbnail or a remembered clue.
Next compare the tree with the entrance and the parking lot. The written source does not give an exact tile or controller button, so try adjacent reachable ground while following the current on-screen interaction prompt. If no spot reacts, preserve the map and capture your game version, position, prompt, and inventory state for a reproducible report.
If you already collected the treasure, the location may no longer offer an interaction. The sources used here do not confirm whether Map 1 or its cache respawns, whether the map is consumed, or how an old save records completion. Do not repeatedly buy tools or restart a save on the assumption that a second cache is guaranteed.
Keep Map 1 separate from the full map list
This page answers one numbered map: where to get Treasure Map 1 and where to test its dig site. The full Treasure table lists additional maps with different acquisition clues and destinations, including entries whose locations are blank. A missing row in that table is not evidence that every map uses the same digging rules or that all listed rewards are current.
If you are holding another map, use the broader treasure-map guide or the wording on that item rather than applying this route to it. The Mall parking-lot tree belongs to Map 1 in the checked source. The Shovel is shared equipment, but the farmhouse cat and this specific tree should not be copied into guides for every map.
Source and version limits
The cat, tree, and loot list come from the community-maintained Treasure and Items pages read on September 24, 2026. A separate launch-era guide repeats the cat and parking-lot landmark, while the Shops page supports the Shovel’s buried-treasure use. These are useful dated directions, but none is a verified recording of this exact route in every current build.
To be confirmed: the exact dig tile, prompt, map consumption, repeat behavior, and reward variance in a fresh current-version save. A short capture showing the map item, parking-lot tree, shovel action, and resulting inventory would settle those details. Until that exists, follow the landmark route and treat the recorded loot as a community checklist rather than an official guarantee.
