Where to look for the first seven Mysteries

For the early investigation task, check one world object at Dave’s House, one in the Sewers, and five around the Mall. A developer clarified in the historical Steam discussion that a qualifying Mystery is an object offering “investigate further?”, not a television News Event. The community Tasks page says the first seven counted for the town investigation route are in Town, Sewers, and Mall.

Use that area split as a checklist rather than treating every unusual prop as a counted Mystery. The old player discussion names the Mall food-court goo, sports-store counter, ATM, arcade machine, and hidden tree area as the five Mall leads. Those object labels are historical player descriptions, so confirm the interaction text and journal count in your current save.

Start at Dave’s House and the Sewers

The community Mysteries table has a Town entry at Dave’s House. Search for an interactable object there and look for the “investigate further?” choice before rolling or spending a resource. The old Steam count list also includes Dave’s House, giving this one an independent historical cross-check.

In the Sewers, the current readable community table names the Parks and Recreation Office. The old discussion records one Sewer Mystery among the early seven, though it does not provide a precise tile or approach direction. Search the office objects for the qualifying prompt rather than counting every Sewer encounter or shrine as part of the same task.

After each interaction, open the investigation task and check whether its count moved. That matters more than whether the roll gave a reward, because the question is which object the task recognizes. Keep the area and object name in a short note so you do not repeatedly test the same spot.

Check the five Mall leads

The historical players name a goo pile near the food court and a counter in the sports store. The community Mysteries table also lists a food-court location and Sports Planet, which supports those areas without confirming the exact prompt on every patch. Interact with the unusual object, then verify the task count before moving on.

Another pair of reported Mall leads is an ATM and an arcade machine in a closed or empty store. A player in the discussion had to return for the arcade machine after believing the Mall was complete. If you are stuck at six, revisit those indoor objects and check that the game actually offered the Mystery prompt.

The last historical lead is a tree below the sports store. One reply says to stand on a plank near a hole and interact to the left, which is a dated player hint rather than a current coordinate. Use the sports store and hole as landmarks, and keep the hidden tree search separate from an Old Woods tree or a Mall Mine statue.

Make the task counter your success signal

The community Tasks page records an investigation task associated with Akira and stages at several Mystery counts. Its note says the first seven counted Mysteries are the Town, Mall, and Sewer set, while Old Woods and News Channels do not count for that stage. The historical Steam discussion uses an older task-giver name, so follow the name in your current journal.

A successful check is the task count advancing after a qualifying world-object interaction. A favorable die roll or item reward alone does not prove it advanced, and a television event can look mysterious without belonging to this counter. Read the journal immediately after each object so you know which location caused the change.

If the count remains unchanged, note whether that object was already investigated in your save. The community page says Mysteries can reset after bathing, but a repeat interaction is not automatically a new unique location for a task. Avoid farming the same object expecting it to substitute for a missing seventh place.

Do not count News Events as Mysteries

The developer explicitly separated News Events from Mysteries in the April 2025 Steam thread. Only objects in the world that ask whether you want to investigate further were counted as Mysteries in that discussion. The current community site also keeps News Events on a separate page, which preserves that distinction in its reference structure.

A television story can be interesting or valuable without satisfying the seven-location task. If you spent time watching news and still see six of seven, return to Town, Sewer, and Mall world objects. Record the actual prompt and counter change rather than classifying an activity by theme alone.

Prepare for the investigation result

The community Mysteries page describes a die roll after an investigation and says Luck can influence its outcome. Some listed outcomes include helpful items or blessings, while others involve curses, damage, or encounters. Those old tables are not a guarantee of the precise reward in your build, so approach an unknown object with enough health and a way back.

Check your status after the roll and decide whether to continue searching. The first goal of this page is to locate counted interactions, not to promise a rare reward or manipulate a particular roll. If the result looks different, keep the prompt, area, and version together for a focused correction.

If you are stuck at six of seven

Write down Dave’s House, Parks and Recreation Office, food-court goo, sports-store counter, ATM, arcade machine, and the tree below the sports store. Cross off only the places where you saw “investigate further?” and then saw the task count increase. That method avoids confusing a visited room with a completed Mystery.

The arcade and tree are especially easy to miss in the historical discussion. One player described returning for the arcade; another learned about the tree after listing six objects. Recheck those two Mall spots before assuming that an Old Woods or television event must be the seventh.

A September 23, 2026 player post still reports being stuck at six of seven, but its readable captured comments do not supply a verified new solution. That shows the question remains live, not that the old seven-place list is automatically correct for every current build. If your counter disagrees, save the task text and interaction capture rather than inventing an eighth early location.

Version and source limits

The seven-area split is supported by the community Tasks and Mysteries pages read September 24, 2026 and by a developer-answered Steam discussion from April 2025. The object names and hidden-tree hint are historical player reports from that discussion. This page provides a checkable route, not a claim that a Demo task name or every roll table is unchanged in the released game.

To be confirmed: the exact current-version prompt and task update at each object, any new locations added after release, and the rewards of each roll. Use the visible “investigate further?” question and the current journal counter as the decisive checks. If one historical object no longer counts, a screen capture of that mismatch can update this list without guessing another place.
